On September 1, the project of the bridge across Tangjiashan Quake Lake in Beichuan County, Western China''s Sichuan Province, was completed by Anhui Road And Port Construction Co., Ltd. - a subsidiary of ACEG, professional for road / bridge and port engineering and construction. “CCTV NEWS – LIVE” and "Oriental Time and Space" - core news columns of China Central Television (CCTV) have reported this event successively.
The bridge structure is “Deck type and concrete filled steel tube arch”. The main bridge is 277.56 meters long and 10 meters wide and the approach road is 8.5 kilometers long and 6.5 meters wide. The designed main span is 160 meters with a net height of 32 meters.
The geological structure on both sides of the landslide lake is very complex and the stability of the rocks there become poor after the earthquakes in 2008, the construction is difficult and the climate environment on the site has great interference to the construction also.
Nevertheless, the project team has overcome many difficulties in the completion of two key difficult works during the construction of the project, namely the main arch closure of the bridge, completed on October 17, 2017 and the concrete jacking in the arch of the bridge, completed on December 24, 2017.
The construction of the bridge main girders and slabs were completed successfully on May 11, 2018, the deck pavement of the bridge was finished on August 6, and the whole project was completed on September 1, 2018, with all requirements met for opening to traffic.
Like a rainbow, the bridge, connecting the road well-off for the local people of Qiang ethnic minority.
After the completion of the Tangjiashan grand bridge, more than 30,000 people in the surrounding villages and towns no longer have to use cableways for traveling and it has provided a strong transport guarantee for the people there to get rid of poverty and become richer and richer.
